Welcome Home

Welcome home is what we were greeted with as we pulled onto the playa, bursting with excitement to attend Burning Man. I can honestly say it was a life changing experience.

Burning Man is an annual event in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada, United States. It began in 1986 as a small gathering of friends on Baker Beach in San Francisco, California. Today, it is attended by tens of thousands of people from all over the world.

The event is described as an experiment in community and art, and it is based on 10 principles: radical inclusion, gifting, decommodification, radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, communal effort, civic responsibility, leaving no trace, participation, and immediacy.

There are no rules or expectations at Burning Man. Participants are encouraged to express themselves freely and to create their own experiences. The event is known for its creativity, its sense of community, and its freedom from the constraints of everyday life.
